Domo Vitae is a state-of-the-art, high-tech living accommodation, yet simple, efficient and dramatic in layout.  The 14 ft wide first floor roof surrounds a covered porch. This serves as additional living space during the temperate months, and buffers winter climates by keeping snow, wind and rain at distance from the house perimeter with three foot roof overhangs. In tropical settings the great room cross-ventilation features and conductive air distribution keeps the loft interior shaded and cool. Optional Murphy-style beds offer overflow porch sleeping accommodations doubling the capacity to eight.

The open, covered porch is a feature, which can be expanded upon as the structure becomes ‘lived-in’. Each side porch can offer tilt down Murphy beds, closets, and privacy curtains at night to double up as guest rooms, under full roof cover. Hence the large, 14 ft roof overhang. Without counting the ‘porch as livable floor area, this limits permit costs to 900 sqft main interior floor, and 340 sqft upper, second floor level bedrooms/bath.  The basement is an additional open 30’ x 30’ storage garage, which can easily convert into habitable space at any future date with converted interior stairway.  The whole point of this simple design is an oversized 30’ x 30’ doghouse, with Great Room (30’ w x 18’ l x 24’ h) loft and two connected upper level bedrooms.

The Domo Vitae basement design is ideal for storing recreational vehicles safely in the spacious, 30 Ft L x 30 Ft. W x 10 ft. high garage. That provides room enough for a 16 ft. day-sailer/trailer, a double snowmobile/trailer, two dirt bikes and two full size cars, or any combination thereof. This space can also be converted with a third, full mezzanine level bedroom/bath/walk-in closet- and accommodate two cars with a tow trailer. On the upper level the large pocket, sliding door openings on the main floor open out to the expansive porch.  The two porch access stairways can be removed to discourage unwanted intrusion off-season.
